The core components of the scroll compressor - the moving disk and the static disk - are typical thin-walled parts. Thin-walled parts are prone to deformation when subjected to force, heat, and vibration. Therefore, obtaining high-precision contour processing and ensuring the verticality and surface finish of the side wall and the bottom surface is very difficult. Milling processing is not only a huge challenge but also puts extremely high demands on processing tools.

Currently, this customer uses carbide cutting tools with vertical Makino machine tools, with a maximum speed of 16,000 rpm, and the material is cast aluminum. A 3/4-edge carbide milling cutter is used, and the lubrication concentration during processing is 10%.
 
We have specially designed a series of carbide milling cutters for air-conditioning scroll compressor parts processing, including 4-edge and 6-edge milling cutters for roughing and finishing. Compared with super-hard tools, our carbide milling cutters can not only achieve efficient processing but also significantly reduce tool costs.
